Runs Very Large — Size Down

The material feels nice and the quality seems solid, though it’s a bit heavier than I expected. Overall, it’s a well-made product. The issue is sizing. I’m usually between a Large and XL, and since this was labeled “Active Fit,” I sized up to be safe. The XL is extremely oversized — long enough to fall past mid-thigh and very roomy through the body. For something marketed as “Active Fit,” I expected a more athletic cut. There’s also no hem adjustment to help manage the extra length. I suspect a Large — or possibly even a Medium — would have been more appropriate, but since Columbia charges for returns, I won’t be ordering another just to test the sizing.
